Totally taken out of context, mank. This was not about freedom of speech. He was arrested because he refused to move on after a dispersal order was made against him. He had no authority to make a speech from the steps of the Guildhall.
We always have had and always will have freedom of speech. What we will not tolerate is people making a nuisance of themselves. This was a publicity stunt, no more, no less. If he didn't want to be arrested, all he had to do was move. The police gave him 40 minutes of discussion time before they were left with no option but to remove him. I had never heard of the guy before his 2 minutes of fame, and I bet I'll never hear of him again.
Welcome to Britain, if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute, some more will be along soon.
