I'm wondering why you should be impressed that I was online this morning. It's been known to happen.

I, for one, worry about ya a tiny bit. Actually, sometimes I worry about me, too. This is a lonesome place. All is not happiness. Changes need to be made, but not sure yet exactly what those changes will be. I think about my options every day. Thank you all for caring.

I think about my options every day. Thank you all for caring. I'm sure that you'll know when it's time to execute on those changes. I worry about you too, living alone in the woods and how many times in the past few months have you lost phone service? And no cell service at home? What if you fell or became horribly ill? Someone around these forums would have to (1) notice your absence and (2) call Angel's Camp FD and have them check on you! (Don't think I wouldn't do it, either. I sent the police to check on my mother more than once...)

Saw my eye doctor this morning. 9 days after cataract surgery, the vision in my right eye has improved to 20/30, or, as he put it, "down 2 lines". Vision should most likely continue to improve, because he is waiting until my next appointment in 2 weeks before he gives me a new eyeglass prescription.
Then we can start to discuss the other eye.

living alone in the woods What about that hot neighbour that moved in next door? Sorry, no hot neighbor next door. The guy I think you're talking about is across and up the creek. He's been there for years but I'd never seen him before. The only way to get to his house is drive a quarter mile up the road, cross a bridge and drive back down. He's not within shouting distance of my house. Oh wait, I think I've heard a dog bark over that direction a few times. There IS a young man (late 30's I'd say) a ways up the creek (his house is across the creek from the other guy and neither of them had anything nice to say about each other). He was in my house once several years ago. Dragged a pint out of his pocket, got drunk, put a chaw of tobacco in his mouth, spat on my carpet, and made a pass at me. I threw him out. The next time I saw him I drove by last week as he was repairing his mailbox. I didn't wave.

BTW, if you've got my address from the Christmas card lists you can google earth my house and get a little idea of what it's like here.

So what annoyed you: Spitting on your carpet, or making a pass at you?

So what annoyed you: Spitting on your carpet, or making a pass at you? I couldn't quite believe my eyes when he spat on the carpet, wasn't sure I saw what I thought I saw, so I didn't react right away. He didn't quite make a pass at me, nothing subtle. On his way back to his seat from the kitchen sink he walked up behind me and grabbed my shoulders hard, pushing his thumbs into my back like he was going to massage me. I have a bad back, and it immediately went into spasm. If I'd had anything in my hands he wouldn't have remained unscathed. It didn't take him more than 30 seconds to stumble out my back door then down the back stairs in the dark. I heard him tripping over fencing and lord knows what else as he groped his way across the lot next door. I was furious.

Chemo is backfiring - I'm actually gaining weight. I weighed in at 109 this morning. That's very good news!

Chemo is backfiring - I'm actually gaining weight. I weighed in at 109 this morning. That's very good news! So, Molly outweighs you by 10# or so (I've lost any desire to pick her up while balancing on a bathroom scale). I'll take an extra 10. My fighting weight is 125-130. That's where I feel good and my clothes actually fit without looking like I jumped out of my mommy's closet. I'll likely never again have "junk in the trunk" or be breast-tacular, but that's ok. I'm not getting sick by the very idea of solid food. It's still cold enough to live in sweatpants too. I carb and calorie-loaded before starting treatment to pack on some weight ahead of time. That I've had a better appetite than I've had in years is amusing to me. It isn't quite to the level of PMS cravings when I was loading up on red meat (iron deficiency, maybe?), but BAKED seafood and I have a special relationship. (I'm not in the mood to push my luck with the deep fryer anytime soon. The pervasive smell of grease made me gag and stuck around in the house for days.) I'm also sure that my Ensure milkshakes with ice cream, caramel or chocolate syrup, and malt powder isn't hurting. At first I cringed at the idea of drinking two of them a day. Now I look forward to my enhanced breakfast and afternoon snack. I'm pretty sure that protein is helping me stay feeling good. I get tired easily, and I don't handle stress well right now, but I can manage that. H/T and a thank you to someone who gifted me gift cards to WalMart to stock up on their brand of Ensure/Boost. The amount gifted will get me through 5-6 weeks. I price compared the powder vs. the ready-made, and by the time I make certain that there's whole milk in the house, it's a wash. That shit's expensive!

The Ensure/boost etc is great shit but it will never beat beer, wine, Jameson. Beers flavoured Ensure might be interesting.

Seems her registered stud wiener dog, Stubbs, somehow sneaked into the kennel with the registered golden lab female. Uh Oh. Maybe his legs are too stubby for him to... never mind.

Got my review today. While I fell short on the SLA's, I made up for it in sheer volume. Almost 3,000 tickets closed last year. They're going to let me keep my job for a while.

I am down at our plant today and when I got here I was presented with a package that contained a print copy of "Marta's Pod."
Thanks Rick! Should I read Cardan's first or does it stand on it's own if I haven't yet?

I found a pain medication that doesn't make me stupid, sick, or cause sudden-onset "Men In Black"-type memory erasure. See my blog for details!

Good News! I have been very diligent with my physical therapy homework and the strength and range of motion in my left foot has gone from 30% to 75%. The right foot wasn't giving me noticeable trouble but it is at 90% - mostly because my right side was doing most of the work. I'll still use the walker for balance, but he wants me to start taking short walks outside on uneven terrain. (Short being defined as 100 feet down the street and back and build up from there.)

My Apple Smart Keyboard for my iPad Pro was technically out of warranty and had started acting up. Then I noticed over on MacRumors that Apple had extened the warranty period on these (so there must be an issue). Made an appointment for the Genius Bar, saw the Genius, she told me mine is out of warranty. I persisted. She went to the back and came out and said they would replace it!
I can haz brand new keyboard! Yay!
