Welcome to the tropical zone of the Joke A Day Forums. The Drifting Topic never closes, never runs dry, and never runs you off. Anything is fair game in here. Toasts, birthday greetings, random topic drift, whatever. Ramble all you want. That's what we designed it for. It's just one continuous party.
We founded the Drifting Topic (or D.I.R.T.B.A.G, as some of the more unsavory patrons call it) as a haven for random chat. It's more than a place to sip a few, it's the place where all the silly comments, bad puns, shaggy dog stories, and other idiocy are welcome. Not that we don't enjoy a bit of humor in the rest of the boards, mind you. You did come here from Joke A Day, didn't you? It's just that the proprietors have requested that the rest of the boards at least attempt to stay on topic.
Sit back, pop a few corks, and help yourself to the peanuts on the back of the bar. Drinks are self-service, and so is the grill. Don't bitch if we don't have your brand, 'cause you ain't payin' for it anyway. Ray's runnin' a virtual tab! Drink hearty, me buckos!
Don't ever underestimate my ability to find shit out.
So does Steven have some death pager app on his phone that when anybody dies he gets a text message? I always wonder why he posts so many dead people??
I"m delighted with Steven's ability to track down the recently deceased and post them here. What would we do without him? Keep up the excellent job, Steven!
I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I was just wondering how he keeps posting dead people sometimes every 15 minutes. I wonder if he has ticker tape running that reports nothing but the recently dead? LOL
California may be in trouble - again. First snow depth measurement for the year shows 1" of snow on the ground. It seems to be feast or famine. We NEED rain! Had a dribble of rain last night. Might be a little more over the weekend. Pitiful.
Is anyone here still Facebook friends with AprilAnn? If so, let her know I heard her shoutout on Sirius/XM's 70s on 7 this morning, it was about 7:30 am Eastern time. Unless there's more than one April Coble in Guyamon, Oklahoma.
I have one of those robotic vacuum cleaners David, and because my entire house has tile and stone floors, it works great. Dang thing went under the bed and rummaged around a bit and when it came out it looked like a small dog! Pissed me off. Wife wanted me to take a broom and chase all the spiders and dust bunnies out.
The recent winter blast/storm affected South Florida somewhat. What a cold front we had - temperatures got down to 40 or so at night and only around 55 or so during the day! That's cold as hell for a (south)Floridian. Flannel long sleeved shirts, Sweatshirts, jackets, long pants and real shoes WITH socks! Brrrrr.
Plenty of snow and ice in my old stomping grounds (Dover DE). I don't miss the snow and ice even a little bit and haven't even seen a snow shovel in 15 years and I have never even seen a snow blower. Some locals have never seen or even heard of 'snow tires' or 'tire chains'. A 'Florida snow shovel' looks similar to the northern version but is made out of a screen material - its for sifting beach sand for stuff the snowbirds lose! Seriously, Goggle it.
Wanna know what you can do with a snowblower in Florida? Watch THIS.
We're all weather spoiled here. I have not turned on my heat so far - no need to.
Happy birthday Jim!
