This is a topic for everyone to stop by and let everyone else know a little bit about you. Where do you live? What do you like to do? How did you find Joke A Day? How long have you been a subscriber to Joke A Day? Did you survive the Forum Crash of 2008? Were you a "Plank Owner" of the Ikonboard boards?
It's been years since most of us have done our intros. You should do one again if it's not here.
Please note: This thread is for introductions only. Any comments or conversations need to be taken to the D.I.R.T.B.A.G. or Paid Forumers Lounge.

:::Waves to the crowd::: Hi, I'm Shell. My circumstances have sure changed a lot since 2008. Now married, with three children of the four-legged variety, and intensely disliking New England winters.

I'm Judy and am no longer shackled. Still live in Parma, Ohio and take care of my brother Kenny (or as we call him - Uncle Cracker) and his pet goldfish - Ritz Cracker. My son Jason and his wife Mandy take care of me and Kenny and I try to keep track of everything. Koji is His Royal Hinneyness and I hope will soon be trained as my service doggie.

Yes, well, I'm here. I've changed a lot in through the years, to be sure, and I'm staring down the barrel of a much greater change.
I used to live in Utah, now I live in Alabama. I work at Wal-Mart. I'm pretty boring. I'm transgender MTF, which is a little less boring than before I figured that out, but I'm still pretty boring.
I'm tired, I only got like 6 hours of fitful sleep last night.
Edit: You can call me Kris or Kristy, since I came out on Facebook I consider myself "out" in general, Facebook just being the medium by which I announced it. I changed my name on here from Kris to Kristy.

Hi, I'm Malcolm, the man from Manchester. The original Manchester, that is, the one in the UK.
I've been with JAD since I can't remember when, but survived the Great Hack of 2008. In fact, as it happened whilst you left-ponders were asleep, I was the first to spot it.
I'm into football (again, the original version) beer, travelling and . . . ooooh, look, shiny!

I'm David, real name frodi. I'm the resident drug dealer and token Irish man. The big love of my life is my motorbike wife. She responds to my every touch and has a lovely growl. My biggest issue ATM is memory loss. I forget when it started but Barbara remembers for me.

Back in '97 or '98, a guy I met online started forwarding me all the joke emails he subscribed to. I started going to the JAD site, I even found all the coins, but was afraid to enter the contest because I wasn't a subscriber. Eventually I got rid of the guy and subscribed to JAD on my own. I've been on the forums since XSOrbit.
I live in eastern Ohio, and work in a call center in Wheeling, WV.

Way back when I went looking for jokes on the internet and found JAD. It took longer to get on the forums so I missed the first version or two. I'm a mom with 4 grown children, one married, 2.5 cats, and countless books. I work as an aide in a self-contained class for special needs high school kids. I also decorate cakes.

Hello, I'm Perry. Another token Canuck at JAD. I have been around so long that I lived in 3 different countries. (Canada, Germany, US). I have the privilege of being the 1st Lifetime subscriber to JAD. Made a lot of good friends here and been to a few of the JAD parties.

Guess you could call me an old-timer, since was a Joke A Day subscriber since November 1997. I have met some incredible people on several renditions of the JAD boards, many of whom I consider lifelong friends. I attended all of the official JAD parties, and have lots of memories and stories. For example, there's that tale about me being known as an "axe murderer"... I live in Northern Virginia with my husband Michael and our two "kids", red dobies named Tucker and Riley. I'm more than a little crazy about my pups! When I'm not working as an Executive Assistant to the CIO of a medium-sized information technology company, you can often find me volunteering at dog adoption events for the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation.

Well howdy all and here I am again! Hang on to all of the chairs and make sure they are glued down good! LOL I sure as hell don't wanna go thru all of that again and that was my very first trip to the parties in 2001. I'm the double-fisted beer/wine drinker of the crowd for those who don't remember me. But...I've mellowed out.... I live in Tremont, Illinois, just a small little town where you can leave your garage door unlocked and the front door too. If anybody wants to attack me...well hell...let 'em...I'm not running out to buy a gun! I have been married now for almost 37 years to a wonderful guy. He retired in 2009 and we are now down to our two little people who consistently think they own us. There's Charlie Brown, my black and white tuxedo cat and Benji the Collie. Along with these little people and yes...they are my little people...come my grandkids. I now have 9 grandkids and 9 great grandkids. I sure hope these children quit having kids cuz my expense account seems to be dragging a lot with buying gifts every single month not to mention Christmas. OH Well! I am truly hoping to come to the party and seeing all of my friends that I haven't seen for a few years since the parties ceased. Of course, some of that was not my fault because I had several surgeries and I'm still lost out in left field for the time being. Thank God for insurance....I haven't had to pay a dime. I know if I didn't have any insurance my medical bills would be well over $500,000 at least. I hope to catch up with everybody eventually. C Y A soon:)

Like some others I've been on the Joke A Day Forums since the XSOrbit days and have been either a mod or admin for all but about six months of that time.
I was born and raised up North but Georgia has been home since 1982. I guess that makes me a Damn Yankee. I have three cats, two daughters, eight grandkids and a husband who gets loaded every time he goes to work.

Hi, I'm Ben. I don't remember exactly when I joined, but I've been here since just about the beginning. April 2002 was when this place became a second home. I had a fiance cheat and breakup and was moaning about it on whatever forum we had at that point, and Ray was nice enough to send me a sound file - this one: lonesome.wav. It was perfect and broke me out of the funk. I've been here ever since. Life gives me very little time to post so I mostly lurk. I work as a pastor in the Lutheran church and volunteer as an EMT on my local rescue squad. I'm also a Captain in the USAF - Air National Guard. In my spare time I love gaming (primarily strategy & simulation) and going to Walt Disney World, the happiest place on earth. Maybe when I retire they'll let me be a cast member there.

And, Debbie here. Decided to drop the "D." for the new place...
Let's see, not much has changed since "The Great Forum Hack of 2008", which I survived (thankfully). Still working for the same place. The only major change I can think of is that I now have 1 dog instead of 2. Fortunately for all my friends, the one I have is the one who loves people (certain dogs, not so much, and cats, not at all).
Anyway, guess that's it. See y'all around the forums!

Hi there, I am Maarten. Glad to be here among you fine people. A quick search in my email archive revealed that I became a subscriber to "Deluxe Joke A Day" in 2004, and for what it's worth, I joined the previous forum in 2008.

Char here. I've been around the forums since the AOL.EXE days. The JAD members have helped me through some tough times emotionally. Since the death of my hubby I'm learning to live a new life. Lots of surprises. Some good, some not so good. Behind all that are my JAD friends.

It's amazing that you all kept the forums going all these years. I met some great people here and there's a few that I've kept in touch with for the last five or six years when I wasn't coming around the forums anymore. A lot has changed. I have a different attitude, a different mindset and I'm thinking more clearly than I was back then. My love for sports has grown stronger and now includes sports that I didn't have an interest in years ago. Following sports has become a hobby for me. My teams are the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Red Wings, the Detroit Pistons and the Michigan Wolverines. Sometimes I root for the Michigan State Spartans, especially if they're playing the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes are my least favorite team. Politically, I have liberal and conservative views, and I don't consider myself to be either right or left leaning. I'm also a gun owner, a deer hunter, an animal lover and a beer drinker. My website is robdarnell.com.

I'm Dave, aka DaveWally. I AM the commissioner of the JAD Fantasy Football, Baseball, and Hockey leagues. I live in Michigan, like the Tigers , love the Red Wings, Love (and hate) the Lions, and just ABSOLUTELY ADORE the Michigan State Spartans. I HATE Notre Dame and the Dallas Cowboys. I work a crappy job that pays the bills, and am old enough that I don't give a crap what anybody thinks of me. I sleep 4-5 hours a night, but I am well rested. Let's see...what else.....zzzzzzzzz

Ok - introduction time. I have a tendency to ramble so feel free to skip to the end at any point. I was part of the JAD forums way back, at least through the end of 2004/beginning of 2005 when I disappeared off from most everything as I dealt with issues with post-natal depression. I travelled back to the US with my family back in 2004 and while we were there we went to the annual JAD party. Fast forward in time. I'm still living in SE London. I filed for divorce in 2013, and am hoping it will be finalised soon. I may or may not share the particulars of what happened at some point, but for now the subject is still quite raw for me and I need to protect the boys from any fall out. On to the good stuff - I have 3 handsome sons. The eldest is 25 now while the younger two are 11 and 9. I moved with the younger boys into temprary accommodations back in February, and am now in the waiting list to get into council housing. Most of my week days are spent shuttling the boys back and forth to school since we live an hour away. I still do energy healing work, and oracle readings. I'm in the process of taking a distance learning course to become a Soul Midwife. Oh yes, and I'm still a witch.
