My 17 year old granddaughter was inducted into the National Honor Society yesterday evening. For a moment I didn't read that correctly and my brain parsed it as "National Horror Society"!!!
Congrats to her

I guess this is a safe enough place to say this.
Monday was a pretty damn good day for my business.
We closed September with a record monthly sales total which was also a “milestone” number that had eluded us a number of other times.
Then we found out that a potential customer we’ve been working with for a few years but had not sold to wants us to supply all their product for a certain line in their business. The impact to us? Our annual sales will double, or more.
When my partner told me he said “go buy new golf clubs and play a lot of golf but DON’T sell anything! (More tape)”
Holy fuck! I guess I should buy a few rounds in the Dirtbag!

I don't want to rain on your parade, Marty, but I'm sure as a professional business owner you are aware of the dangers of having just one customer taking more than half your output.

My iPad has finally returned home from my hotel in Germany. Only 13 days after I forgot it there!

Excellent!
I've been majorly upgrading my bike (braided brake lines, new fork springs, new rear shock, 4 degree ignition advancer), but also having a bit of a nightmare with the side stand snapping (metal fatigue, probably) and the Start Relay failing, giving a spurious error code on the instruments :/
Yesterday the fuel pump cut out in the outside lane about 100 yards before the start of the motorway, fortunately another biker stopped and helped me get it to safety and, after lifting the tank and checking all the connections and the breather pipe, it started again and got me to Brighton and back!
My new side stand has just arrived, so that's good news for me too

Nothing special. Just a 2001 Honda Shadow VLX600. Smaller than my last bike but better than no bike. Hope to get it registered this weekend. The bike sat for 5 years but started right up after draining the old fuel and replacing the battery. Borrowed a plate to go for a rip and lost the plate. It's too slow to ride the highways to work, but, that's ok. I've got some decent side roads to get there. Rain gear and a trunk to carry my laptop are on order.

Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, but check the DOT number on the tyres.

You won't go far wrong with a Honda. Over here they are described as an "agricultural" bike. That's a term of endearment BTW.

Tires are absolutely on my mind. I've got two weeks before I can get it registered so I have some time to find a tire shop.

The Masters golf tournament is finally on! My favourite of the year!
Of course I am used to it being the kick-off to golf season where I live and this year it will pretty much mark the end of the golf season but still happy to have something to watch.

Jordans Pharmacy Ltd paid off the last installment of the business loan that I took out 15 years ago. Back then I used it to buy out my two partners, refit the shop and refinance. As of today the business has no outstanding loans apart from usual supplier credit. All that is left now is to get together a wodge of cash to pay off our home mortgage in 4 years time. Drinks on me in the DIRTBAG.

Congratulations Frodi! I will have a Long Island Iced Tea! And since you are buying I will take this 50-year-old Scotch. It is only $25,000 (US) a bottle. I will let you have a dram of it to taste.

My best mate, Simon, has at long last been persuaded by his family to get a dog. Up until now they have been a cat household.
At the moment he is just 2 weeks old and still with his mother, but soon I shall be meeting Bowser (named after some children's dragon character), a chocolate lab.
I have been told I will be at the top of the list for taking him on long walks. Yaaaaaaaay!
As Simon said, 'Just like grand-children, you can have them for the day and then give them back!'

Well finally cut the TV cable last month. This was the 1st month where everything that I want to watch by using a Roku to watch hockey, streaming services, and limited amount of free channels from Roku. I lowered my cable/tv bill by half.
I also changed my phone plan so now I'm paying almost half and I have unlimited minutes, text and 5 gigs of data per month. I don't use my phone to stream anything but I have to, I log into my wifi and stream away. So it doesn't count against my data.
Will see how long this lasts. I do miss watching the NHL Network. It usually has the Hockey Night in Canada pre game show.
