Welcome to the tropical zone of the Joke A Day Forums. The Drifting Topic never closes, never runs dry, and never runs you off. Anything is fair game in here. Toasts, birthday greetings, random topic drift, whatever. Ramble all you want. That's what we designed it for. It's just one continuous party.
We founded the Drifting Topic (or D.I.R.T.B.A.G, as some of the more unsavory patrons call it) as a haven for random chat. It's more than a place to sip a few, it's the place where all the silly comments, bad puns, shaggy dog stories, and other idiocy are welcome. Not that we don't enjoy a bit of humor in the rest of the boards, mind you. You did come here from Joke A Day, didn't you? It's just that the proprietors have requested that the rest of the boards at least attempt to stay on topic.
Sit back, pop a few corks, and help yourself to the peanuts on the back of the bar. Drinks are self-service, and so is the grill. Don't bitch if we don't have your brand, 'cause you ain't payin' for it anyway. Ray's runnin' a virtual tab! Drink hearty, me buckos!

My Dayton friends all checked in ok, though one was a block away. The son of a friend of someone here in town, though, was one of the wounded.

From what I read in the article, no they would not be the same thing. The VF would be like getting a facial for your face in a salon. Mud pack? I don’t know for sure. But it now ranks on my all time list of dumb things to do.

The vaginal steaming and facial are in the same line as the wasp nest douche. They are unnecessary, don't work, and may even cause damage.

So, as I look above I see that Juli is a full member with three purple stars but the rest of us are Lieutenants. So what is the difference? What am I missing here?

My religious background is primarily Quaker, so the military theme made me uncomfortable. I mentioned it years ago as part of a discussion on whether we wanted to change the theme, and said that I was willing to live with it, though. Jackie went ahead and made the category with the full permissions, just not the same cosmetics.

A few weeks ago, over in the old DIRTBAG, we had a discussion about baseball -v- cricket. Mank asked what happens if a ball hits the batsman. click here. (If that doesn't work, just Google "Ashes Smith Hit video") This is England's latest bowling youngster delivering a ball at 92 mph to the side of Australian hero, and self-confessed cheat, Smith's head. Ignore the woman on commentary saying it hit his shoulder, it didn't; it hit his head/neck just below his helmet. He didn't know where the hell he was after that. The medics insisted on taking him off for medical checks (and they have the final say, not the player). He came back on a while later, but was out soon after, clearly still shaken. In footage not seen in that clip, the Australians in the crowd got to their feet to applaud him as he was taken off, but the English just stayed in their seats. Some of the Aussies indicated to the English fans that they should give him a standing ovation, they replied by booing him off the pitch. Brilliant.

Malcolm, That link took me to Peter Fonda obituary. I did find it after some time. So, does he get a free base, or advance to the next wicket? And, are you saying English fans are a bunch of jerks?

That link took me to Peter Fonda obituary. Hmmmm, so it does! Sorry. So, does he get a free base, or advance to the next wicket? Nope, he gets bugger all except a headache. He should have got out of the way faster. He reported sick the next morning and was removed from the match. Next match starts in a few days and hopefully he will be deemed unfit for that one too. And, are you saying English fans are a bunch of jerks? No, certainly not. You probably don't know the back story. A couple of years ago, when he was Captain of the Australian side, he was involved in Sandpaper Gate, in South Africa, when he and others instructed a junior member of the team to scrape one side of the ball with sandpaper, so that it's path in flight would deviate, or swing. Unlike baseball, cricket matches only use one ball for about 500 deliveries. The TV cameras caught him doing it and about four players involved were banned from the game for various periods of time, around a year each. Cricket is supposed to be a self-regulating game, much like golf. The players know the rules and should stick to them. In many sports, if you get caught cheating, such as drug taking, you will receive lengthy and possibly life bans. Many thought that such blatant cheating that occurred in South Africa deserved life bans, especially for the senior members of the team, if not the junior member who was just 'following orders'. Smith was, of course, sacked as captain and is now just a player, but is seen as possibly the world's best batsman, but who likes a cheat? I'd boo him too.

And anybody who says that a 5 day game of cricket is boring, clearly didn't watch this week's test between England and Australia. The last pair of batsmen needed 73 runs to win. One batsman got 1, the other got 72. Absolute classic. That one will go down in the history books.

Hmmmmm, doesn't sound very likely to me. Either the lawn is an assigned landing area, or it's not. If it isn't, the palace wouldn't let it be used as one. And she doesn't have any corgis any more, as I understand it.

It's being reported by MSN. That alone casts doubt. Not to mention, the pilot would land where he was told to land, nothing more, nothing less. And the leftist liberals eat this crap up.

Should this be accurate "reporting", CNN and all the other left propaganda machines over here would be blasting it 24/7 for a week straight.

Most leftist liberals, myself included, couldn't care less about divots in the queen's lawn. I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison. Should this be accurate "reporting", CNN and all the other left propaganda machines over here would be blasting it 24/7 for a week straight. This is inherently hearsay and gossip. No surprise that it isn't being reported. If it were newsworthy, I'd still expect Faux News to ignore it. Doesn't fit the "Trump as the chosen one" mantra.

True story, from my local police department last night.
A plain clothes cop is driving down the road and sees a wanted man. He jumps out and arrests him. Calls HQ for back-up and a marked car and van turn up. A member of the public caught up in the traffic chaos, stops one of the uniformed cops and says "See that bloke up there? He was round my house ten minutes ago, trying all the door handles".
Trouble was, he was pointing to the plain clothes cop, not the villain. Apparently he had been on his way back from trying to serve an arrest warrant on that same member of the public!
Two for the price of one.

I was working my way through a case of Miller Lite yesterday, but wanted to have beer during the game. I still had half a case by the time the game started.
