Isn't that one of the symptoms of Covid-19? A hacking cough?
Quick, everybody put a mask on and stand at least 6 feet from your keyboard. Unless you are a government advisor.

First world problem I know. When I'm posting ion the A-Z of Images thread sometimes the image does not appear. When I edit the post to remove the link and put in another image the original appears in the preview pane. Even though i can see it in preview there is no way i canget these images to appear in the final post. Any thoughts.

For the preview, often your browser saves the image in the cache and uses that until you refresh, and it's then you can't see it. Where are you hosting the images? They may not allow hotlinking.

I'm not hosting them anywhere. I'm linking direct to the page with the image. Using "Copy image location". As yous say , probably not allowing hotlinking. I've had one or two sites say this when i try to copy the link location.

What I usually do is "Open Image in New Tab", then copy the address line in the browser, then paste that.

Why does Char's blog always show as the most recent one to have activity when on the main page?

I'm shopping for a new stove. It has to be electric and a self cleaning oven is a must. I love the way the glass top stoves look but I cook with my caste iron skillets a lot. I keep reading reviews that say not to cook with cast iron on a glass top. Are they really that hard to keep clean and do they scratch easily? I won't give up cooking with my cast iron skillets so should I just find something with the coil burners?

But on Induction ranges you CAN use cast iron. It looks like a glass top stove visually. The only trick is to find out if your other pots and pans will work on it. To find out try sticking a magnet to the bottom of the pot or pan. If it sticks, it will work on an induction top. It heats fast, almost as good as gas. We love ours.

Hi Jackie, yes you CAN use cast iron on glass topped stoves. I did it for literally YEARS. Try not to drop them on the top (The top will likely break!), but aside from that, it'll be fine. I prefer gas with cast iron, but that's me. Induction is fine, but you are limited to the hardware. I use SS pans and cast iron and even teflon, but teflon is only used for eggs...

Thanks Dan and Marty. Most of my pots and pans are stainless steel. I only have three skillets that would need to be replaced if I switch to an induction cook top so I'm definitely considering it.

Jackie,
Chiming in maybe a bit late but my wife has a glass top stove and uses a cast iron pan quite often. She keeps her glass top immaculate cleans it after every use and I wax it for her once a week with the stove top cleaner with a bit of grit in it. Her oven is about 9 years old now and the top looks as good as the day we bought it. It is an LG self cleaning stove. I did a lot of research years ago and the LG stove received excellent marks. It was on my list to buy. My wife, on the other hand, liked it because the interior oven was blue.

Thank you Mank. An LG glass top with the blue inside was one we looked at at Home Depot yesterday. I've had other people, including my daughter, tell me cast iron is fine on a glass top so I'm sure it would work well for me. Seems like people either love the glass top stoves or hate them. After Marty and some of my Facebook friends mentioned an induction cooktop I checked and most of my cookware, even the stainless steel, failed the magnet test. Too bad because it seems that everyone who has an induction cook top loves it. So after shopping online and trips to two different Home Depot's to look at some they had on display we made our decision. There were only two that Reggie and I both liked a lot. One is out of stock and they have no idea when it will be available. So we ordered this one. That means I have some more shopping to do.

I have a glass top stove. Too lazy to check the brand, but, it was only something like $400. It was less than 5 years old when I had to replace a burner. Almost as easy as replacing a coil, but, the single burner was over $100.

How easy is it to repair/replace a heating element in a dryer? Mine no longer gets hot and while it's old I'm not in the mood to buy a new dryer.

Make and model will be needed for an answer. I had a cheap dryer years ago that would burn out an element yearly but they were only $5 and easy to change.

Turns out a bird had built a nest at the end of the vent. Cleaned it out and it worked great. At least until the next nest...

When the heating element failed we had a repairman come to fix it. Cheaper than a new dryer at least. But he did have to take the dryer 3/4 apart to actually change the element.
