Someone posted this on another Forum I use. Unfortunately the original is paywalled.
It's interesting, but may not be currently of practical value...

Could it be that all the people we see with their masks below their noses have some breathing problems? Some of us do.

Back when this started, there were a lot of people thinking that we had already had this, or a variation, back in the winter. People were saying that they had had some nasty bug. I hadn't noticed anything for myself, then I realized that at that time I was treating leg wounds, and was on Valtrex for about a month, then it was decided I should go to dermatologists who put me on Amoxicillin for 2-3 months. I'm also O+ blood type. I wonder if the drugs and blood type did anything toward protecting me from either what was going around 6 months ago, or COVID.

Half the people I know are on this bandwagon. This is a guy who lost a son a few years ago. His wife, who is a friend of mine from high school, has asthma and at least one of his daughters does too. I'm surprised that he's on the anti-mask bandwagon.

I saw a quote recently that ran along the lines of "If you won't wear a mask against Coronavirus which might save yours or someone else's life because it infringes on your liberties, but you want the right to carry a gun so you could shoot a bad guy and maybe save someone's life, then you're not concerned about liberties, you just want to pretend that you're a badass."

I zaw that quote too. My response to it was, "Carry a gun and wear a mask and a badass you will be."
By the way, the guy from my post above is not a gun owner.

France and the company are making out like bandits and in the time they’ve had to trial it the evidence is only modest that it even helps. Donald threw $1.6 Billion at another unproven therapy.

There is no way I would call it a 'key' drug.

With the thought that the rich get richer, the Trump Administration only issued a license to develop the drug to one firm who is now overcharging for it!

The drug is not new. "Further" development license was granted to one pharmaceutical firm. I don't recall the timing of the article about it but I'm guessing late March or early April.

I had a discussion on Facebook yesterday about the masks and the people who refuse to wear them. One point that was made by the sadly oppressed freedom fighters is the nurses they know are not worried about the virus and do not believe in the masks.
It seems every nurse and nurse assistant I know personally is on the anti-mask bandwagon.
What's up with that? There are stories of nurses who cared for Covid patients when there no masks available and the nurses soon died from the virus.

Masks work in a clinical environment, when used by trained users.
Masks do not work out in the real world for untrained people.

My first time inside Kroger in a few months. I got tired of them only bringing me out one or two packages of meat when I did curbside pickup. Today I was able to get enough meat to last me until the Brower Farms has my order ready. I managed to get in an order to them a couple weeks ago, but because they're getting so many orders lately, it could be two or three more weeks before my order is ready. The reason I was doing curbside pickup was I heard there were a bunch of rules customers needed to follow when they shopped in the store, and I thought that would be a pain in the ass. Well, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Most people wore masks, but a few did not. I want to be clear. I wear a mask not because I'm scared, but because I want to do my part in helping to slow the spread of the virus so hospitals don't become overwhelmed. I don't think this virus would do much to me and I hardly care if it does. But I don't want to be the person who passes it to someone who will not survive it.
