MANK! Don’t click the link! Don’t click the link! You won’t like it but I was ROTFLMAO! Actually the Stanley Cup has had it’s share of abuse from players. The first team to win it left it beside a river and it was either stolen or booted into the river. I’ll have to look that up again. It has been to the bottom of Mario Lemieux’s pool. It has been dented and broken. Tons of stuff. Actually I have personally sipped champagne from it once. When Colorado won I got invited to Warren Rychel’s day with the cup (he’s a great guy by the way even though he was kind of an enforcer) and lots of us got to sip from the cup. I even have a pic somewhere to prove it. Question on the Lombardi trophy though. Is there only one or do they make a new one for each team every year? There is a new one every year. After all the celebrations are over, they usually are displayed in the team's offices.

Over in the games section, I have just posted this: Keeping Up Appearances. Did this brilliant British comedy make it onto American screens? I just wonder whether its humour would be appreciated. It was somewhat niche.

It was somewhat niche. Several of the local PBS (Public Broadcasting System) used to run British comedies, including this one, one night a week.

Hyacinth Bucket, which she pronounced like bouquet, and her husband whose name escapes me. She had sisters Violet, Daisy and Rose. ~checking streaming apps~ hmm, not on Acorn, but it is on BritBox.

Her husband was Richard, son was Sheridan (who never appeared IIRC), slob of a brother-in-law was Onslow. Brilliant writing.

Anyone care to buy me a pint after the beating we got from France. 13-15 doesn't sound too bad but we were lucky. 4 first pick players out injured and one suspended including the captain against a resurgent French side. I can't see anybody beating the French this year. At least there not English!

I could have sworn that we saw Sheridan at least once, maybe she was talking to him on the phone or off screen. It's been a few minutes since I saw it, and now that I know where to find it, I'll have to binge. Only 44 episodes.

She was always talking to him on the phone. According to Wiki, we only see the back of his head once.

Something warm here please. We've got below 0 temps and got about 8 inches of snow last night. I know it's the worst that people got from this storm but man it's cold.

We’ve got one more day of cold here but then more normal temps. But Texas is still colder than us. At least in some parts.

So I couldn’t have had a good day for other reasons than what you seem to think? Well that’s up to you. Marty, And you wonder why I don't respond to you. I wasn't born yesterday. No sir, it is upon you not owning up to your despicable, terrible remark. iI know when you posted your ignorant remark after my posting about Rush dying. Stop the game playing be a man and own up to your remark. Of course, it is despicable and I can understand why you won't admit it. It is extremely low to gloat over a man's death whether or not you liked him. How low can one be. And it is sad that the world is not a better place when people make remarks over the death of a person. That remark is so disgusting I wonder why I even bother logging in here anymore. Think about what people and your family would feel if somebody made a remark like that after your death. Cut the BS Marty, I know what you meant and so did Gimpy. I am done, feel free to attack me, my friends as you did in the past ( the woman who was hit by a car) I can't keep responding to such vitriol.

I shipped an order to a hockey store in Ontario for the first time in months yesterday. First sign of light for us in the Covid BS that has been going on as we all know for months. Also got a good order out of the blue from a customer we’ve been working with for years on a product development. Their business could be transformative to our company. Excuse me for having a good day.

Actually a bit ironic that you bring up another time when you completely misinterpreted what I was posting about. For your friend I was trying to understand more about their particular situation and raised some hypothetical situations which you misinterpreted as an attack. Now you were probably caught up in the emotion of your friends situation and weren’t ready to discuss it so I guess I was asking too soon or something but at no point was it ever my intention to “attack” your friend so I’ll thank you to stop suggesting that was what I was trying to do.

Mank, it's kinda funny that you say the bolded bit when Rush was famous for using part of his airtime to announce the names of people who had died of AIDS, and celebrating each death with horns.

Rush was a human piece of shit. I'd be glad he was dead if I paid more attention to him. There, that's a Rush like statement about Rush. For another, here's what Lil Bit posted yesterday.

Funny you mention that Juli. I mean I know what Mank was accusing me of but I’d posted about Limbaugh in the Dead Pool thread before he had posted and all I said there was I couldn’t believe I had not included him on my list this year. But that is how far Limbaugh is off my personal radar. I cannot pretend to have had a shred of respect for him or his approach. I wasn’t even aware that he did that on his radio show (until yesterday when I read it on another forum) but that is deplorable. I used to by mildly homophobic. I wasn’t anti-gay but just still a bit uncomfortable with it. The good people here at JAD in conversations with me helped me grow and overcome the small amount I had. Really it was mild. Gay people didn’t bother me but I was still uncomfortable with gay marriage for some reason. I saw the light and realized why should I care what someone does in consent with another in their own time and space. It makes no difference to me and it doesn’t make them bad people. Now my business is the manufacturer of “Pride Tape.” It is not our own product but we do make it, contribute to the foundation in support of the product and I work closely with the people who run the foundation. Are we also not allowed to speak poorly of people like Adolph Hitler who was clearly a blight on humanity? Where is the line? Rush seemed to be a guy who used hate to line his pockets. Another deplorable clip someone posted was him making fun of Michael J. Fox for having Parkinsons. I mean why would anyone show even a shred of respect to someone who would do that for personal profit?
