Frodo, if you can lift the tire and put a drill chuck on the wheel, you may be able to get it to spin fast enough.

This evening was spent in the shed trying to sort out the speedo cable. To get at the cable you have to take off the screen and the headlight assembly. I also had to cut the wires to the spot light that I mounted just over the headlight. I don't know if it has been sorted as I will need to take it out for a few miles to see. I can't get the front wheel to spin fast enough to see if the speedo reacts.
Can you not just detatch the sensor and spin it with a Dremel or similar?
Also, when you reattach the spotlight wires, add a couple of bullet connectors :-)

Need to get drunk tonight. A Shipt shopper just delivered it. Never had canned Heineken before, but it can't be much different from the bottles. The Tigers won earlier. Second win in a row. Got the Stanley Cup Playoffs on, Lightning and Maple Leafs.

I tried turning the cable with a screwdriver at the wheel end and the speedo needle reacted. I found a much better way today. I took it for an 8 hour spin. Still no joy. It looks as if the problem is at the wheel hub end. Same as the last time. The problem was that the cogs on the wheel side are plastic and the cogs on the cable end are metal. Guess which wore out. I'll order another set before we take the wheel off again.

I fixed the spotlight over the headlamp with bullet connectors but the came loose again today. If you pinch them with your finger the light works. I guess that I'll just do them again. Meanwhile one of the spots on the engine bars went again. They only cost €15 a pair on ebay so I might just buy another pair and fit them.

I did that when I swapped my OEM incandescent rear light for an LED one and it's been fine since.

I ordered a second hand replacement speedo drive this morning. Only €25 and from a reliable shop that I've used before. I also got a new top box as part of my birthday pressie and I'll be fitting that on Thursday.

I'll let someone else post in the Dead thread.
I thought I'd be drinking happy tonight. Then I find out Ray Liotta died today.
He brought Shoeless Joe Jackson back to life.
Tonight, I drink to honor Ray Liotta.
(Cracks first beer.)

I got out on the bike today. 415km, 8.5 hours and 5 rally points. Even some sun shine. All three spots were working for most of the day but by point 5 all were out. I thought that it might be a fuse but one came back on somewhere on the journey home. I've already ordered another set off ebay, €15 a pair can't go too wrong.

Do you know something? In almost every Bond 007 movie you get to see him in bed shagging a luscious beauty.
But you never, ever see him getting a blow job. Interesting eh?

They really slept on that opportunity when Pussy Galore was a character.
The franchise has been such a snore for so long, it would probably get more people to watch. I think I gave up watching with Golden Eye.

The Isle of Man TT races are on at the moment, and, sadly, three riders have been killed already. I am pretty sure I have mentioned these races before on these boards. They race along normal roads (OK, closed to other traffic) through towns and villages and over a mountain. The track includes hairpin bends and bridges; walls of brick and stone, manhole covers and kerbstones. The record speed is 137 mph, that's AVERAGE speed. Google some footage if you want. The three killed this year were Welsh, French and Irish. I was checking Wiki's list of fatalities over the years and I noticed that there are no American or Canadian names listed. A high-speed, adrenaline fuelled petrol based sport and no cousins from across the Atlantic? Come on you bikers, what's wrong with you? I suppose there ate at least two explanations. You're too sensible or, you do compete, but just don't die.

I've done 135mph twice on two different bikes. Both would go faster; but the driver would not. It's too damn fast for me, my reaction time is adequate; but a mouse crossing the road would kill me at 135.
Dunno why no Americans have died on that race. No shortage of stupid people here.

I don’t think there are any Americans in Moto GP, either.

Sorry Rob, you are probably not enjoying this baseball game right now. Yesterday was a disaster, today was better. But, yeah, not a great season. At least they're not in last place anymore.

A very interesting article from the BBC, but it was also reported in my morning paper. Basically a Google software engineer thinks his AI machine is a sentient being. He's called Lemoine, any relation Marty? Ahem! Public side of the board. None I know of though. I think my sister emailed me that article but I’d not had time to look at it yet.

Interesting, I have never seen it in a 330ml bottle, over here you get it in a pint bottle (20 oz) but should always drink it from a half pint glass. I have no idea why, it's just the tradition. And please note, it says 'Drink Cool" not cold.
Does it say where it was bottled? It's a long journey for a heavy glass bottle. I wonder if they bring it to the US in barrels and then bottle it.

46 found dead inside truck.I don't understand this. If the police have the truck, then surely they can trace the owner and the driver. Why would the driver run off and leave them to die? He's going to be in front of a judge very soon. Still got the death penalty in Texas?
