After all that, what did I end up drinking during and after the match yesterday. Draught Guinness from a can. I passed up packs of eight 14oz cans of that, which would have saved me money and given me more beer. But it just feels wrong to drink Guinness from cans, so I got the 11oz bottles.

I’m buying a pint for frodi as thanks for some help with a question in a PM but I’m feeling generous so tell the barkeep what you want and put it on my tab!

I'm not going to pontificate obout the latest tragedy to befall an American school, but can somebody please clarify for me; what exactly is an "active shooter"?
Are there such things as passive shooters?

Just watched a great game of football. Ireland v France. France won 1-0 but Ireland ran them close. No 3 in the world against no 48 and they looked scared. In the end with only a one goal lead France were bringing on defenders while Ireland were bringing on attackers. This is the same team that beat the Netherlands (no 6 in the world) 4-0 last week. We may have lost the game but not our pride.

I suppose that drinks are on me. Party or wake, you decide. 31st March 2003, Jordans Pharmacy first opened its' doors. That has been the last 20 years of my life. I can now understand why some animals kill their young. Yes I've achieved something but I desperately want to move on. With a bit of luck I won't be celebrating my off springs 21st.

Today is our fiscal year end and my little company just bested or previous best ever sales by nearly 40%! I’ll buy a round too!

Not turnover wise but nett profit. 2007 & 8 were higher turnover but not profit. Then the crash happened and I cut back on a lot. I lost two nursing homes that I looked after. They contributed about 1/3rd of turnover but very little profit. Losing them was probably the best thing that happened although it didn't seem like it at the time. Then in 2014 I moved to a smaller premises (more than half the rent) closer to the medical centre.
It doesn't appear as bad tonight after some chocolate and beer.

I got out on the bike today. 3 hours and 125km. Not a lot but it's amazing how much better things look from the back of a bike.

I'd love to have done the same, but I've been fighting rear brake disc bolts instead :-( Last MOT (UK Roadworthiness check) I had an advisory that the disc was getting worn, so I decided to replace it.
Unfortunately, despite what I'd read, it turned out the bolts were secured with red (needs high temperature to free up) threadlock, instead of blue (can be undone with ordinary hand tools).
So not only did I round out the inside of one of those bloody annoying allen key head bolts, but one was totally jammed and eventually I had to cut the disc off before I could free it.
Really bloody frustrating...!

Sounds like my skill level with any sort of tools. Rounding bolts and screw heads my speciality. Just buy another bike and sell the old one as a "project".
One good thing. No NCT (Irish MOT) for bikes.

Come on down to Dumbass garage. If we don’t injure ourselves, we’ll find a way to break something.
I’ve ordered a motorcycle lift so I can work on mine without sitting in the ground.

Still snow here, so no riding for me. I use cinder blocks as a motorcycle lift. Jack up the front, slide one in, jack up the back ...

I'm at the point where I'd trade my bikes for a convertible. Just haven't found the right one. And if I'm honest, I wouldn't trade. I'd add to the collection.

Facebook says it’s Judy’s birthday but she hasn’t been active in years. Has anyone kept in touch with her?

I likened it to a prisoner being called into the wardens office and being told, "Congratulations, today is the 35th anniversary of the day that you were given a life sentence."

Hello and goodbye, I'm outta here. We're heading off to Oxford first thing in the morning at gawd awful early o'clock. This time we're taking the ferry and driving. B always wanted to see Oxford so that was as good an excuse for us. Tomorrow is an early ferry followed by a leisurely drive across Wales. The 3 days of being a tourist in Oxford and its' surroundings. Most likely a blast up the motorway on Wednesday and the ferry home that evening. No worries about weight of luggage, just chuck it in the boot. My internet will be restricted to my phone and a tablet so that's next to nada for me. B is bringing her laptop but even then I don't expect that we will be using it much. Se ya on the flip side.

HP disables printers that use third-party inks.I think this is another major mistake by HP. Whilst major corps might be happy to fork out $$$ for real HP ink, most home users don't, and I think we will see their market share plummet. Anybody wanna buy some HP shares?

I’d throw my printer away if it were HP and they pulled that BS.

Mine is HP, and I use third party cartridges, but mine isn't networked, it's actually attached using a good old cable. So I'm guessing HP can't see it to upgrade the firmware.
If I worked for Brother, I'd be hastily writung a new ad campaign "And with ours you can use any ink you want!"

HP made my shit list when they rolled out HP Smart. Makes installing drivers in a locked down corporate environment needlessly difficult. Trying to download drivers outside of the HP Smart system is always a headache.
