There's much talk in our press about the Premiership football players who won't get vaccinated - about 30% of them. These are some of the highest paid sportsmen on the planet, whose bodies are their livelihood. They have the best medical advice available to them, 24/7, for free and they won't get a jab. I am at a loss to understand.
Don't get me wrong, about 30% of NHS staff in London are unjabbed too, a frightening prospect for anyone who has to get up close to them when sick already.
So, a poll, if you don't mind.

I just got round 3 about an hour ago. I hadn't planned on getting it, but, when I was planning my trip to Maine for Christmas, my mom asked me to get it. She's hyper paranoid about both her and my stepdad getting sick. Between his cancer and her being his only caregiver, she won't let anyone see him if they're not vaxxed. Unfortunately, my trip got scrapped because they're scared of the dog hurting him.
I only got the first two rounds because someone that I hang out with regularly had cancer, too.
If it weren't for them, I wouldn't bother.

As you might have guessed, I had all three as soon as each was offered. And I've had a flu jab as well.
In my mind, those whose jobs depend on their health, professional sportspeople and healthcare workers, the jabs should be compulsory. I wouldn't have wanted an unvaccinated nurse tending to my sick Father.
They have been made compulsory now, in the UK, in nursing homes, but not hospitals? WTF?

I answered slightly prematurely. I have actually only had 2 but my third is in under 2 hours from now. I have no issue with the vaccines. I’ve had an AZ and a Pfizer and if they can give me Moderna today I’ll take it. If not a 2nd Pfizer will do.

I've had three Modernas. I'm willing to get boosters every year, just like the flu, if strains keep changing. My mom has had three Modernas, too. I have friends and family who can't get the shot. One discovered she had it already, back in December through Feb. of 2020, and has a heart condition. My brother and his wife had horrible reactions to the first shot (dunno brand), it caused crippling flare ups of their rheumatoid arthritis, so they will not be getting more.
Just a reminder that having had it is not a guarantee you won't get it again. A son of one of my cousins has had it several times. He was a marathon runner, and near as they can tell, he contracted the first case at a running club race in Jan. 2020. He will never be able to run again, he can barely walk any distance, even with portable O2. At least each episode was milder than the previous.

After check in got in line to where they tell you which table to sit at to get the needle done. The lady directing people in the Moderna line was a short lady with a name-tag “Val.” I looked at her and said “Val”? From what I could see of her face I was pretty sure…. Yup, it was Val. My Val! LOL By that I mean this was the same Val whom I had a boy crush on from Grade 3 on. It almost never went away but in high school she had a pretty steady boyfriend. We’re actually connected on FB now but she never posts pics of herself so I had no idea how she looked now. Still cute as a button. We had a nice 2 minute catch up chat and then I had to go get jabbed. Anyway it gave me a smile on an otherwise drab and down day.

All three plus a flu shot. Same for B and Fionn. Grainne & Cormac had the single Jansen shot that was offered and when they heard the premature announcement last week that anyone over 16 could have a booster shot they had their head around the door and asked when could I do them. So tomorrow they are both coming to the pharmacy to get theirs. I'm all set to do my first clinic of booster shots tomorrow and there is no shortage of takers. I'm considering doing walk in clinics with the short dated vials in the new year. A lot of each vial will go to waste but they would have been thrown out anyway.

My first two were Oxford Astra Zeneca, my booster was Moderna.
I've also had my flu jab too.
Despite being vaccinated and taking great care because of her asthma, my GF has had Covid *twice* (once in March, once in October with the Delta variant).
She still has Long Covid from the first infection, leaving her suffering from exhaustion, brain fog, lack of taste and smell etc. Given that I like to go surfing and skiing and go to classes at the gym twice a week, I *really* do not want to risk getting that, so I'm extremely careful about mitigating any risk factors.

Oh yes, also got flu vax this year plus 2 doses of shingles vax so I’ve had 6 jabs total this year.

I got mumps, measles, rubella, polio, etc, as a kid.
A couple of odd ones when I traveled internationally.
Tetanus & flu, in addition to Covid, this year. Pneumonia & shingles when my Dr catches up with me.
Dunno why Covid is political or why I'd decline.

I've had Moderna for all three and Bug has had Pfizer for his two. He's just about eligible for the booster. People are so idiotic around my state in not getting the shots that I've stopped going places again. Just not worth it for me. (not that I went many places before but still)

Today at the covid clinic about half were eligible for the flu vaccine which I offered. About half had already got it and more than half the remainder refused "I never get the flu" was the most common response. They'll never learn. Still, today was a nice little earner.

I’ve only gotten the flu shot once when it was required for a job st a hospital. I don’t see the point when i can simply sleep for two days and feel better. Getting a shot for something like that seems pretty pointless.

Getting a shot for something like that seems pretty pointless. The point is that flu is not always that mild of a disease and as you get older your immune system gets weaker and needs more help. When it wipes you out for two weeks things change.

Well, that's a pretty one sided poll. Either we are all of the same mind, or those filthy, wretched, infected scum are afraid to admit it, for some reason!😃

Got number 3 the first week it was available. I'm double O. Old and obese I'm the same. All 3 Moderna. When it 1st became available for over 65 back in January, NY state had several sites set up around the state. But almost all of them had no appointments available through May. After checking continuously for several days, I was able to book 2 appointments (for Lillian & myself) at a site upstate for the beginning of March. It would require an 8 hour drive each way. Since the appointments were for late Saturday afternoon, we were going to drive up on Friday, stay overnight on Friday & Saturday, the drive home on Sunday. That assumed no complications from the jab. Then we would have to repeat the whole process again in 3 or 4 weeks. As it turned out, a coworker's wife worked at a clinic & was able to get us appointments about 45 minutes away for the end of January. So we completed by the end of February.

I have had all 3 Pfizer shots. I also got a flu shot. I used to never get flu shots but four years ago I got the flu, a bad case of it and was sick for a week. My wife used to get on my case about not getting a flu shot and I would say I never get the flu. Well, that argument went out the window four years ago so I get a flu shot every year now.

I had two Moderna shots back in March and April. Then on November 29 I had a flu shot in my doctors office. She gave me scrip for the first of two Shingles shots. I went directly from there to CVS for the shingles jab. I asked when I got there if they were doing COVID boosters and if so do I need an appointment. No appointment needed and if I was OK with Pfizer for the booster they could go ahead and do it while I was there for my shingles shot. So for me it was a flu shot and a COVID booster in my left arm and the first shingles shot in my right arm all on the same day. It's a good thing I had PTO scheduled for the following day because my arms were a bit sore, the shingles arm more so than the one I had the other shots in, and I was little tired all day. I could have worked that day if I'd had to but am glad I didn't. I think when it's time for my second shingles shot I'll either do it on a Friday or plan on being off the day after.

Then another month to get my 2nd dose of C19 (Pfizer this time) then got my 2nd Shingrix in August. The Shingrix website said to wait a month between theirs and a Covid shot..

Damn, I don't qualify... This joke may become a reality. Annual booster shots at least for the next 5 years. Should see me nicely to retirement. Yesterday doing covid boosters I made more than I made doing flu shots for all of last season.

I had 2 Pfizer’s and my appointment for my booster is January 26th. In Quebec they are only allowing the 60+ to get their 3 shots but because I am spending so much time with my dad, I was allowed to book as a caretaker. Gilles goes in 2 weeks.
It’s interesting to see how the rules differ from one province to another. In Quebec, we had to wait 4 months between shot 1 and 2 and 6 months between the last dose and the booster (it was changed to 3 a few weeks ago). I had shots in April and August and that was as soon as it was available to people over 50 years old.

In Ireland the rules/guidelines seem to change almost daily with at least one case of a change and roll back within 12 hours. This day 2 weeks ago it was announced that anybody over 16 was entitled to the vaccine. This was recanted after less than 12 hours to everybody over 40 but not applicable for 7 days. On the Thursday before xmas it was announced that anybody over 16 was again entitled to a booster but there was no stock for the under 30s. On xmas eve we were told that stock for the 16 to 30 year olds would be available from Jan 17th.

Now they are giving 1st vaccines to the 5-12 year olds, 2nd ones to 12+, and boosters to the 60 and medical staff, caretakers, pregnant women and people with some illnesses (cancer, respiratory illnesses etc.) but I don't think they ever recanted. The only thing they keep on changing is the time to wait between doses. They try to convince us that waiting months and months between doses gets us better coverage but we all now they say that to cover the fact that they are too slow and don't have enough man power to vaccine us all sooner.

I need to change my vote, but there is no option for "two or more boosters". I got my second booster just before going to central PA to my niece's wedding.
