It’s OK Malc, I am quitting drinking today and now I only need to live to 150 or so (probably older actually) to get my average in line!

This past weekend since my wife was out of town I watched a ton of sports on TV. I even watched two Premier League games. I watched New Castle versus Southampton and that ended in a 0-0 tie. I found that to be boring. From what I understood from the announcers New Castle is the better club and should have won.
Then on Sunday I watched Arsenal versus Manchester United. That game ended 3-2 in favor of Arsenal and was much more exciting. It seems with that win Arsenal has a huge advantage now in the Premier league and can win it all. Again, I don't know much about the clubs but I am just going on the commentary after the game.
It seems that the Premier League normal pre-game announcers did the the opening and closing shows from Orlando Florida. I saw some woman who seemed to be controlling who spoke when but I haven't a clue who she was, nor the other announcers.

mank, I didn't see the pre-game show, I just watched the match, but I think it's highly unlikely that our pundits were in Orlando. They must have been your pundits, from which ever station you were watching. Did they have American accents? We had two English and one Irish.

The announcers were: NBC Sports’ studio team of host Rebecca Lowe and analysts Robbie Earle, Robbie Mustoe and Tim Howard will broadcast Premier League Mornings Live presented by Barclays from the event Saturday and Sunday kicking off at 7 a.m. ET each day. I couple of the guys I had a hard time understanding because of their accent.

Ok, so they were English pundits, but working for NBC. Tim Howard used to play for Man United.
Our programme had three Sky pundits. One was Roy Keane, who also used to play for United, and lived in my village.

Well, I wasn't feeling well at work today. I came home and did a Covid test and it turned out positive. I feel tired, with a runny nose, and a headache. Actually, this doesn't feel that bad at all. I have had all five shots too. Two people at work were positive before me so I guess it spread in our office. Oh well...

Same as everywhere else. There are places in Dublin that I wouldn't go into esp after dark ditto for the UK. Good and bad. Places and cops.

We’ve got out share of strange things going on here. A lot (or more than we used to hear about anyway) of very random attacks on public transit. But I admit it boggles my mind how a traffic stop can escalate to a beating death at the hands of police. Can’t even call this a race related incident. A friend of mine who trains police around the world says that a problem in the US is underpaid and undertrained police.

Well, certainly under-trained. They clearly think that it is their role to punish; to act as judge, jury and in this case unfortunately, executioner. Not to detain safely, gather evidence and bring them before a court.

How much training do y our cops get? Here it is 2 years in the Garda College in Templemore then probation for 6 months. That's just for basic grade cops.

Wow, twenty weeks. That's shocking. But, with so many legally held guns around, there won't be much crime anyway, will there?

I've had an ongoing problem with parking in front of the pharmacy. I have one spot which I try to keep clear for my customers. I have a pita with customers from the restaurant/cafe next door parking there for hours on end. I've tried signage, putting polite post-its on windscreens, clamping all with limited or no success. I even tried putting up a sign saying "Parking, €5 per hour, Pay in advance" and still had customers of the restaurant coming in and looking to pay €5! today I tried a new sign. "PHARMACY PARKING ONLY. IF YOU ARE NOT A PHARMACY CUSTOMER YOU CAN FECK OFF!"
I was discussing this with my mate Marc who had stopped by the pharmacy this evening. Later on he passed on a few suggestion from his son Teige. 1. Put a banana up the exhaust. It starts with a burnt banana smell followed by a badly blocked exhaust. Eventually they have to have a "banana in the exhaust" conservation with their mechanic. 2. Put a condom or a balloon over the end of the exhaust. 3. Put a rubber chicken in the exhaust. 4. Pour drinking yoghurt in the air vent below the windscreen.. 5. Wait for the owner to come back and run out naked saying "I'm so glad you got here."
Not to be outdone Cormac suggested duct taping a kazoo to the exhaust. No DNA tested needed.
Any other suggestion from the Borg.

Any other suggestion from the Borg. My suggestion is to check what your local laws have to say about Criminal Damage...
Sorry, but, absent any legal restrictions on parking, they're permitted to park there for as long as they want.
If it's really an issue, talk to your local Council (or whatever) about limiting the time someone can park there to stop them staying there indefinitely.

It's private property so local law enforcement won't get involved. There are no local council rules about parking on private property. because it's private property I can clamp them if I so choose. If the driver cuts the clamp off then it is criminal damage to my property and I can make a complaint to local police. The front of the pharmacy is covered by CCTV. As for any criminal damage that I "may" cause to their cars, it's only a crime if they can prove that I did it. (In Jersey anything's legal as long as you don't get caught.) Drinking yoghurt is something like this. Nice and smelly after it matures for a few days.

Do you realize a groundhog's prediction is going to be right, no matter which way he predicts?
Think about it. Today is February 2nd. Winter officially ends on March 21st. Six more weeks of winter means it ends on March 16th, which is early.

For my xmas pressie from B I got tickets for The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is on in Dublin all this week. Last night B and myself went. Straight from work. Quick cuppa in a nearby cafe. And then into the show. It was a great night with loads of audience "contributions." It suffered a bit from the small stage but they made the most of it.

If it was live wasn’t it the Rocky Horror Show? Either way great fun! I was actually singing “Creature of the Night” just a few seconds ago! LOL
