He may just be done with this board, like so many others.

I'm getting a "We value your privacy" pop-up with a Disagree / Agree choice every time I click on something in these forums, and it's getting VERY annoying.
Is anybody else getting this?

I'm using Safari, but it seems to have gone away. It just came up the once today when I first came in here. Yesterday it was popping up with every single damned click.

There's a semi-serious, semi-comedy quiz show over here called QI (Quite Interesting). I don't know if it's shown on the left of the pond.
Their FB feed has just come up with this:
It has provoked quite a discussion. So, is it legal to dry your clothes outdoors where you live? If not, do you think the ban is reasonable?
Personally I think that is ridiculous, and that there is nothing better than outdoor, line dried laundry.
I need hardly mention, it is perfectly legal in all parts of the UK, it's just that the weather doesn't always allow it!

Where I'm at it's perfectly fine. I don't know that I've ever heard that it's illegal.

We had to sign off on that when we bought. You can still dry clothes on a line you just can’t leave the line out. There are clothes trees you can put in your yard where a receiver is embedded in the ground and you drop the tree and pop it up. Basically 2 supported bars with multiple lines running between them. We don’t have. One of those. We do have a large gazebo in our back yard and we have a concealed line running the perimeter of that which Lisa will hang clothes on when weather permits. I know it seemed ludicrous to me that with limited resources forcing people to use gas or electric clothes dryers when nature can handle this just fine.

Never heard of it being illegal. I also don't know anyone that does it. I don't really take pride in how my house looks but I wouldn't want my laundry hanging out there, let alone see my neighbors.

It's certainly legal here, though I'd question the practicality of hanging out clothes where the wind is so strong.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with hanging your clothes outside. I know when I was a kid my mom would hang clothes outside. With three kids there was always laundry and the dryer would be running too. I do know years ago in Pittsburgh when all the steel mills were around you never hung your clothes outside since they would end up with soot and dust on them. My mom told me that so I would say that time frame would be in the 1930s and 1940s. Most of the steel mills are gone now around Pittsburgh and regulations over the years made them clean the air.
Where I live now, we have an HOA and I bet it does not allows clothes lines. Again, even in my neighborhood if you want to hang your clothes outside go for it! But, I bet the HOA would send a strongly worded letter to you.

It can vary from place to place. One of my aunts lived in a Cleveland suburb that had an ordinance against clotheslines, she found out the hard way when one of my cousins was young and had gotten sick. My aunt changed the bedding, put it in the washer then made a line between the house and the garage to hang the sheets and such. One of her neighbors saw it and called the police. Karens gotta Karen. Where she lives now, it's only the condominium owners association for that building that says no hanging laundry on your balcony, but the actual houses around don't have the restriction.
The previous suburb also didn't allow big trucks on residential streets before 7 a.m. One time Aunt and Uncle had some old furniture they were giving to one of the relatives down here. The family apple orchard often delivered apples and cider to a wholesaler in Cleveland area, so the smart plan was for the cousin delivering to swing by Aunt's place and get the stuff and bring it back home. It was about 5:30 a.m. when he got to her place. As he and Aunt, Uncle and their kids were bringing out the stuff to load into the truck, the cops descended. After much showing of IDs and hunting up the deed and other documents, the cops gave them a warning, and a couple lent their hands and backs to the loading. It was solemnly promised that any future such activity would wait until after 7 a.m.
I'm out in the country, no one cares if you have a laundry line or not. We used to have a line that ran between several trees, now I use an "outdoor dryer", like what Marty described. I use it occasionally in the spring and summer, especially when something needs to be aired out before or after storage, like heavy blankets or comforters.

My only trouble with neighbors here is that we live 3 houses down the lower leg of a “T” intersection. North of the cross street there are still farm fields.
Anyway both of the corner homes have more cars than driveway (and this spans 2 owners for one of them) and tend to use the street in front of our house as an extension of their driveway. It does drive me nuts I gotta say. It isn’t illegal if the cars are there less than 4 hours but frequently there are cars there overnight.
Mostly what annoys me is how often they have a car there. Sometimes we’d like to park a car in front of our house instead of the driveway or have it available for our own guests sometimes.

Speaking of cars...
In my township there is no parking on the streets in residential plans between 2 am to 6 am. Most of my neighbors ignore it since their garages are a mess and the overflow of cars end up on the street. From time to time the police do come through and place tickets on the windshields. The idea is that street cleaners are going through the neighborhood at that time and cars should be off the street.

No overnight parking here allowed anywhere Nov. 1 to April 1 but it is for snow removal operations if needed.

The trouble is, if you live on a street that was built when the largest truck was a horse and cart and the idea of a common working man owning a motor vehicle was laughable, then things get a bit cramped. You will notice that the cars are in fact parked half on the footpath / sidewalk, just so that people can drive through. As a result these streets never get cleaned or ploughed.
