The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be in the New York area on December 20, at the UBS Arena at Belmont Park. I work at the arena as a cashier at a concession stand, usually at the stand near section 224 for hockey games. But for concerts they move me around. If I am working, I'll post on my Facebook news feed where I'll be. Just find me (I will be wearing a name tag with LLOYD), and I'll sneak you the 50% employee discount on food & drinks. We only accept cards, no cash. Let me know if you're going to be there. Damm I'm busy that day.
I'll keep an eye out for the next one.

If you are into movies, I have just posted a new game, in the Games topic, unsurprisingly.

This isn’t “political” so I’m putting it here. It is a cartoon. Bill Watterson drew Calvin & Hobbes from Nov. 1985 to Dec. 1995. Dude was definitely ahead of his time. Granted the internet was in it’s infancy but surely he was able to see what was coming.

Oh man, really bummed to hear about Denny Laine passing. Ummmm, Marty, as he was an Englishman, you shouldn't really use that turn of phrase.

Second hip surgery went well. I have bionic parts in both hips now. I was let out of the hospital on Wednesday. I am just using a cane and not a walker already again. I know this is redundant but I am amazed at how much relief I have other than incision site muscle soreness. I have been told by my orthopedic surgeon that it does take about 8 months to fully heal with the bones and muscles bonding to everything.

Tornado in Manchester, hope you're OK Malcolm. Really? Holy shit!! Would not expect that! Malc, do chime in if/when you can (and by that I assume power and internet outages).

All fine over here, thanks for your concern. It was a micro-tornado in an area called Tameside, about thirty miles north. Nobody hurt. Ripped a few roofs off. We did get some high winds (40mph+) but no damage locally, haven't even heard of any trees down around here.. Power and internet all ok. News report

Tornado in Manchester, hope you're OK Malcolm. Really? Holy shit!! Would not expect that! According to the Met Office, there are about 30 Tornados in the UK each year on average, but most of them are (comparitively) small and do little damage in comparison to the ones in the USA.

Glad to hear that you are OK. Maybe they could have used that tornado in Old Trafford.

Don’t know if any of you pay attention to this but today the US Junior Hockey team won the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) World Junior Championship. This is the premier hockey tourney for under 20 YO’s. It will be a moment those boys will remember forever as they should!
Congrats to the US team! I did have them pegged as favourites to win this year. I’d hoped our Canadian boys could do better but they were knocked out in the 1/4 final by Czechia who went on to win the Bronze medal game. Sweden (who was also the host this year) took Silver.

Just heard there was an explosion (Natural gas by sounds of it) at a hotel in downtown Ft. Worth. Hope no JADites were in the vicinity! Can’t find much detail yet. Could not catch the name in the video I saw but address is 810 Houston St.

Frodi,
I posted about this in have you seen any good movies. We watched a documentary on the lighthouses of Ireland on Prime. It was an excellent series. The engineering of those lighthouses on rocks is amazing. Ireland has the oldest lighthouses in the world built in 1172. We have seen over 200 lighthouses in the US. Hopefully, one day we will get to see some of the Irish lighthouses.
