I didn’t want to sully the “He’s Dead Jim” thread with something silly but here all is fair.
So if Martna Sirtis is single now anybody know if she’s looking for a date?
God I had a man crush on her.

HQ Air Command issued orders today to Air Commodore. S.N. Claus, recalling him to active duty, with a report date of Dec. 24, 2019. A reservist, with 1,742 years of service, Air.Cdr. Claus is highly regarded as a specialist in vertical delivery of high-value items. He is also a Public Relations Officer.
Also recalled, are Sqn Ldr Dasher, Warrant Officer Dancer, Flt Sgt Prancer, PIlot Officer Vixen, Flt Lt. Comet, Flt Lt. Cupid, Sgt Donner, and Cpl Blitzen, Individual Augmentees from the RAF Reserves. LAC Rudolph is also authorized to report for duty; subject to successful completion of trade training, so far failed three times. He has been warned that a fourth failure may result in transfer to ATC or catering.
Although the above personnel are on orders for only 24 hours, it is anticipated that they will submit a travel claim for 24,901 miles at 45p/mile. They will be operating a special role aircraft currently under preparation by a Boscombe Down detachment to an undisclosed location somewhere North of the Orkneys.
As a special operations unit, each member is granted a high level of uniform flexibility, as well as relaxed grooming standards. Standing Orders is authorized and in flight catering has been modified to include large quantities of carrots, hot chocolate and high calorie snacks. Special dispensation has been given for limited consumption of alcoholic spirits during the mission.

So, Marty, and all you other Canucks, it looks like Harry and Meghan are going to adopt your country as home. Do you think the press will leave them alone? Or hound them as they tend to do to all ex-royals?

This evening for no particular reason I fancied having a Guinness. Down to the shed where I have a stash. Just doesn't taste as good as it used to. I'll just have to drink the rest and not enjoy them.

And you wouldnt believe some of the crap they are putting the Guinness label on here in the states.

I have never particularly liked any Guinness out of a can or bottle, it just isn't the same drink as that out of a pump.

Damn Ray - I've been here over 22 years?!
I sure miss some of the originals - Hans, Pen, Bogwart and many others and the videos with you and April - we sure had some interesting conversations and I got a kick how Hans would kick your ass in any argument/discussion.
Thank you for the good memories...

I think that from here on in I'll stick to draught in pubs or bottles. Cans have definitely gone downhill.

I bought one of these a few years ago. I can't remember how long, but it was over 4 years. It is now giving me battery problems. It shuts down into 'night-mode' when I am just in a dimly lit room. It shows a 'low-batt' alarm even after I have charged it for a few hours. It could have a fault, such as it is constantly seeking the radio signal when it should only do that every hour, or it could be a battery problem. Because it is such a specialist bit of kit, my usual watch repairers won't touch it, saying it has to go to a Casio specialist. They have just quoted me £50 / $65 for a new battery, with a three week window because they don't have them in stock. The link above offers a new watch for £63 . . . .

Google shows a procedure on changing the battery and also lists one for $22 USD

It's called "The Chinese work for 50p a day" your watchmaker can't do it for that. If you like the watch, buy a new one.

I don't even have a screwdriver small enough to take the back off. The one thing I regret about retiring, was having to give back a $1500+ tool kit! I have given it another full charge (4 hours under a spot lamp) and it has gone from full to medium in one hour. If my watch is 5+ years old, there must be something better on the market by now . . . . .

I've taken to just replacing my watches when they don't hold a charge, but, you can always take it to a jeweler to be opened up.

Malcolm,
I own over 40 some watches. A little research and I think you can get a new battery for $20. I have a few Citizen Eco Drive watches that are supposed to charge themselves too. The batteries do die after about 5 years or so. Those batteries are around $20. I go to a guy at least once a month since I normally have one of my watch batteries die. He replaces them for $4.
I am a big Invicta watch fan. They make large watches. I have some Invictas that weigh 3/4 of a pound or more.
