Did the give the Premier League Championship to Liverpool? I am being serious. Did the League stop because of the virus? I know it looked like Liverpool was going to win it.

There has been no decision yet. Games are suspended for the rest of this month, but there are no plans any further out than that.

It would be freaking hilarious if they just cancelled it this year!

The NCAA, NBA, and NHL have all cancelled the rest of their seasons. MLB has pushed back their season start from a 2 week delay to who knows when.

NHL’s most optimistic plan is to allow players to have a mini-training camp starting May 1 and play games May 15. That is their most optimistic plan. Then yesterday a player on the Ottawa Senators was the first NHL player to test positive.

Formula 1 has cancelled the first 4 races of the season already. I’m supposed to go to race #6 but not feeling very optimistic about that. It is in Montreal and I don’t think that Quebec was as aggressive on shutting down as other places. They could be a hot spot for a long time.

AI software led to one person on Met's watch list being positively identified out of 8,600 people

The latest figures from the Met Police's deployment of facial-recognition cameras in the heart of London show the technology is pretty fscking inaccurate.

On February 27, for instance, the cameras scanned an estimated 8,600 faces in Oxford Circus, checking them against a watchlist of 7,292 people. The AI tech flagged eight as being possible matches; seven turned out to be false positives, five of whom were actually stopped by the cops and two dismissed as obvious errors. The remaining person turned out to be a true positive, and was intercepted by the British plod.

That's a false-positive rate of 87.5 per cent of those flagged up by the software. About two weeks earlier, in Stratford, the AI matched none of the 4,600 faces it scanned against its watchlist. On another day, the system broke, and no one was scanned.

The New York outfit stands out among other companies trying to sell facial-recognition software to law enforcement for one reason: it scraped pictures off people's public social media accounts to build a database with over three billion photos. That means that those lucky enough to have avoided an encounter with the cops could also be identified with Clearview's app if our faces are stored in the database, making it an invaluable tool for law enforcement agencies.

I drove Colorado to South Carolina and back, $1.59 was about the lowest I saw. Unfortunately, I took the truck and diesel hasn't dropped that much.

Partially that but mostly the oil price war going on between Russia and Saudi’s. Oil is down to around $20 a barrel.

We paid C$0.62 per liter late last weed which in fairness includes a 10 cent/liter discount we get with one of our cards. 

That translates to US$1.64 per gallon.

Not that I drive any more, but you are lucky. Our motorists are paying £1.20 / litre which, if my maths is correct, = $5.35 / US Gallon.

Turns out I was down to half a tank and I was out so I stopped in to fill up. My car takes Premium (91 Octane or higher). The pump shut off when it was full and I started laughing! I just put a half tank of gas in my car and it was under $25 !!!

I’m gonna say the FBI fucked this one up. I don’t doubt these people payed money knowing what the end result would be. My kid got into the school, made the team, etc. Calling it a donation or a bribe doesn’t matter. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink.

But the FBI revealing they tried to influence the people being investigated is terribly inept.
