It is tradition in England that professional football matches are played at 3pm on a Saturday. This is so that the working man can work his half day on a Saturday, grab some lunch, go to the match and be home in time for his tea that the wife has cooked for him.
Then along came Satellite TV. Now the rules are, that you can't broadcast any game at 3pm on a Saturday, because if Man Utd -v- Man City was on telly, nobody would go to watch such games as Altrincham -v- Barnstaple and those teams would lose out on gate takings. So the broadcast games have to be at another time. Manchester United have just released their fixture list for the next couple of months. The first seven matches are not at 3pm on a Saturday. Thank the Lord I gave up my season ticket.

Usually by this time I'm down to cutting the lawn once every 2 weeks but we've had so much rain it should be cut twice a week. I don't do that no matter what, once a week is enough. I hate cutting lawn. Personally, I like cutting the lawn. I have a gasoline edger - Cub Cadet, a gasoline weed whacker - Edge, a Husqvarna gasoline leaf blower, and a brand new Honda HRN gasoline mower. The mower has two blades and does a "quad cut" so it does a great job of mulching the grass. I normally only bag the grass and dump the clippings in the woods near my home in the early spring when the grass is growing fast. My old Honda HRR mower's transmission went after 19 years. I was sad to see it go. Hopefully, the new Honda mower lasts another 19 years. The new transmission, if they could get the parts and it was doubtful, would have cost me $370. A new Honda mower cost me $549. It takes me about two hours to cut my grass with all of the edging, weed trimming, actual grass cutting, and clean up. I take a chair, a cooler, and my classic 160 GB iPod. I hydrate and then de-hydrate while cutting the grass. I drink a Gatorade Zero and then a beer. I do the trimming, take a break, do the edging on the sidewalk and walkways, take a break, cut the back yard, take a break, cut the front yard, take a break, and then blow any grass clippings on the sidewalks and walkways back onto the lawn. Each break consists of some type of libation. While I do all of this I am listening to tunes. Oh and I always wear long sweatpants while cutting the grass. It doesn't matter how hot it is. My yard is the travel route for deer (and they eat everything the bastards - cannot have any type of flowers). The deer have ticks on them and when my FIL lived with us before his passing he had two dogs that would quite often come back in the house with a tick on them. I have literally been talking to my neighbor in the yard and flicked a tick off of his shirt. Those ticks carry Lyme disease.

How much is a season ticket? And, what time are the matches now? I don't know the exact prices, and it depends on how good a seat you get, but let's say $750 will get you a guaranteed seat for the 19 home games. All cup games and European games will cost extra, and will not be guaranteed. Top seats will be $1200+. The next games will be played at: Friday 8pm Saturday 12:30 pm Sunday 4pm Saturday 12:30pm Saturday 5:30pm Sunday 4:30pm Sunday 2pm Once the season gets going, and cup matches start, the matches can be played on any night of the week, usually around 8pm. It is rumoured that the club don't like to sell too many season tickets, because the regular fans don't spend money at the ground. They might buy a couple of overpriced warm beers and revolting hotdogs. But a man taking his son out for a special occasion, his eleventh birthday perhaps, will buy replica kits, at $130 per shirt, an MUFC duvet cover and perhaps an MUFC golfing umbrella. They could easily spend $500.

I was curious how Turkey ended up, and couldn't find them in the list that Mank posted. There were a couple of other countries I thought had won something that I couldn't find, so I checked the official list from Olympics.com, and his list omits places 51 through 68, between Portugal and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). Also, Malaysia is the one his list has as the Refugee team, and that one is actually the blank between Cabo Verde and Peru. Mank, where did you get your list?

Juli, I got it from CBS News on their website. They have the table listed in four parts. I did a screen capture of each table and posted the images. Their list, although updated yesterday, still agrees with what I posted. It still doesn't have Turkey on their list. If you want to look at the CBS list the link is below. You should write a letter to CBS and complain! LOL Medal Count

Write a letter of complaint? Who do you think you are? Canadian? Surely you should get on to Twatter and call for an uprising! All AK47 owners should converge on the CBS offices, set fire to them and then mow the employees down as they flee.
This was a LIE,LIE, LIE. They should DIE, DIE, DIE.
Meanwhile, the Brits put the kettle on.

For many years, my "lawn mower" was my dad or uncle or (rarely) a cousin or brother on a tractor pulling a rotary mower. When the farm closed and the tractor and mower sold, I hired a local kid with his own LLC to do around the house and a neighbor with a tractor and rotary mower did the old orchard once a month. Neighbor died and kid decided to go on to other things, so I hired another local mowing company that could do the 5+ acres. This past winter, my across the road neighbor reached out, his 12-yo son wanted to earn money for a motorbike, could he do the mowing? So, that's where we are now. It's not growing THAT fast, about 10 days is a good interval.

For trails and private property you can start riding as soon as you can balance a bike. I got my first motorcycle around 12 years old. It was a street bike but I still rode it on trails.

I use a wheeled string trimmer. Too many rocks for spinning metal blades. I don't cut my yard until I start losing dogs.
I started riding a motorcycle at 15. Bike was small enough to be trail or street. Illinois law didn't allow <18 to ride anything above 150cc. Common practice was to get a 175cc bike and put a 125 gas tank w/logo on it. I may have done that.

I think some of you might be familiar with the Woot website. It started over 20 years ago. They offered goods, appliances, t-shirts, etc., etc. at a discounted price and would ship anything to your home for only $5. I have bought computers, Dyson vacuums, MP3 players back in the day, etc., etc. from Woot. They are owned by Amazon now. But I digress...
They had a Woot Off yesterday where they offer Bags of Crap (BOC) for $10. The website usually gets bogged down when they offer those BOC. Years ago they were $5 now they are $10. In the twenty plus years I tried so many times to get a BOC. It took me 17 years to get the first one. Then about three years ago I got another BOC. But yesterday I got ANOTHER BOC! WOO HOO!
The best part is you never know what you get in a BOC. There are usually a few useful items such as phone chargers, shirts, etc. in the BOC.
I wonder if anybody else in Jokeaday has ever won a BOC?

I've bought a couple of things off Woot back in the day but I was never lucky enough to get BOC.

I don't own a lawn mower. My house is on a lot that is too small to have a lawn. We live in a suburban neighborhood with pretty small lots. I can’t stand people here who use gas lawn care equipment. Trimmers and blowers in particular. I have a 3,000 sq. Ft. house on a 56’ x 115’ property. I can mow and edge my lawn on one battery using my Ego mower and trimmer. I leave the clippings mulched on the grass. We all love beautiful green and lush lawns but the irony is the damage we do to the environment to try and keep them that way between burning fossil fuel and chemicals to control weeds. Vanity at the highest level really.

I tried a battery mower. I don’t keep my lawn short enough to make use of them. Maybe if I tried one with a bigger battery it would work but I’ll stick to gas mowers. I only use the weed whacker a couple times a year so batteries fine for that.

I used to use it to mow my parents lawn before they sold the house and that was nearly 1/3 acre (not all grass but still a big yard). Ego provides all the power I need easily. I bought a weed whipper from them recently for up at the cottage where there is a lot of tough stuff to deal with and it was an absolute champ. No messing with power cords, gas (4 stroke or mixed with oil). My parents had their snowblower too (my son has it now) and it could handle their 6 car driveway even in a heavy dump.

Matt Rutledge, the guy who created Woot, hung around working for amazon a year or two after he sold it. When he left, he created the Mediocre company, with their foundational site meh.com which is another "daily deal" site. Meh is a single deal a day (unless it's a meh-rathon) and the company also has Casemates for wine (since wine.woot no longer exists) and Side Deal which is multiple deals. Irks are their version of a BOC. They did t-shirts on another site for a bit, but they didn't do as well so that shut down. Sometimes Irks are in the meh-rathon similar to a woot-off, sometimes Irks are for sale on Side Deal, at a higher price which is generally offset by some amount spent on meh in the meh-rathon - ie $30 for the Irk on Side Deal, but spend $20 in the meh-rathon and they'll refund that amount on the Irk. Similar to a BOC - I got a refurb robot vac in one that was great for about a year, and also 5 car 12-volt usb plugs and like 10 pop socket things, or random makeup, plus a bag of course.

Lawn mower? What's that...?
When I bought my house, it had a garden which I never did anything about.
When my partner moved in and the pollen from the grasses etc started affecting her asthma, I turned it into a patio.

If you’re looking for a nice peaceful place to live, check out Estonia! Crime so low that the prisons are empty and they want to import prisoners to make use of them. They do have guns I admit but it seems the registration may be stricter. www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce81lrwg2dxo
