I'd never do anything like that. That Beemer's got about as much side area as a surfboard on its own...!! ;-)

Physiotherapy is going well and yesterday my surgeon gave me the go ahead to start putting and chipping. Can’t wait to swing a club even if it is just a little swing.

Well, I am now officially a Cager (biker term for car driver ;-) ) It's a 2012 Skoda Fabia Mark 2 with about 81,000 miles on the clock and cost me just under £4000. I did try to haggle the price down a bit (just because I wouldn't have been satisfied if I hadn't ) they didn't go for that, but they did chuck in a 15 month warranty for half price, so I was happy enough. Today my partner and I were planning to go to a local pub for a meal, but, as we were driving up there, we noticed a lot of people with Portsmouth Football Club shirts on, so decided to go a bit further to a Toby carvery which was very nice indeed. I still need to get used to the car as my control is a little dodgy eg the clutch/ accelerator balance and at some point I need to sit in it and read through the manual because there's a couple of things on the small LCD screen on the dash that I'm not sure what they mean. Also, at one point, I managed to switch on the rear windscreen wiper and then couldn't figure out how to switch the damn thing off again until I got us parked! Oh well, anyway, in a few days I'll be driving it down to Croyde Bay in north Devon for a surfing holiday and then I can bring my boards back with me to use them down here over the winter :-)

I’m pleased and proud to announce I have a healthy granddaughter! Lyla Raye Louise was born at about 3 AM EDT.
Why can’t I put a pic in here from my phone?

Congrats, Gramps! Have you and Lisa picked out what you want your grandkids to call you, or will you just let them decide?

Congrats, Gramps! Have you and Lisa picked out what you want your grandkids to call you, or will you just let them decide? They’ll decide but her parents both call/called their granparents Grandpa or Grandma so I don’t expect much different.

Played golf today. Shot a great round. Like one of those great rounds that you’ll grin for days after!! Shot 87 on a tough Par 72 course and had one birdie and a couple of other nearly birdies. What a great day in cool and windy conditions!

You may recall 2 years ago that we had tickets for Centre Court in Wimbledon for Ladies semi-final day. All went up in smoke when B got Covid two days before we were due to leave. Well today I managed to score 2 tickets for No 1 Court for the final Sunday. Needless to say B is delighted. This years birthday pressie sorted. We may just slip out to watch the Men's final on one of the big screens. All that's left now is flights and hotel.

Ireland just got off to a great start in the 6 Nations Rugby. We beat France in Marseille. A big win against the odds. It was supposed to be a tight game with France shading it. Instead the French never got a chance to play. Joe McCarthy was man of the match. His brother Andrew is in Fionn's ARCH club. They showed shots of Joe greeting his brother and parents at pitch side after the match. Well worth the beers that I had during the game.

Today will probably be my last post for a while. Not a bad thing.
We are going on a trans-Atlantic cruise for the next 2+ weeks, leaving from NYC, stopping in Halifax, Dublin, Belfast, Amsterdam, Brugge, Le Havre, Southampton, then flying back from London.
WiFi will be limited and expensive, especially the 7 days we are in the middle of the ocean.
