Obvious question: How is the volume for the AM/FM stations and any other devices? I'm just making sure it isn't a speaker issue.

Are there any possible causes
Try squirting some WD40 Contact Cleaner or similar into the socket, it's possible that there's just been a build-up of crud on the contacts.
If that doesn't work, it's possible you might have a faulty connection which would need to be re-soldered.
The sound gets better if I pull the plug out slightly. Could this be a symptom of one of the above? I don't think I can open the dock to get at the socket to solder it.

I know some of the plug n play Xm radios have their own volume controls built into the units. Does yours?

Get a thin piece of plastic, cut it into sections and drill a 4mm hole through each (presuming it's a 3.5mm jack plug) then use them like washers around the plug to stop it going so far into the socket.
Experiment with adding more and see if there's an optimum number.

Since I'm not tech-savvy, it was easier to replace than repair.
To replace the dock, where the socket is, would mean buying an entire mounting kit (cost $50). The least expensive entire new unit (receiver & mounting kit) was listed at $70 at Amazon, Best Buy, etc. So I went to the nearest Best Buy that listed that they had it in stock. Guess what? They didn't have it. But that had a better unit, listed at $100. It was on clearance for $35! Plus they gave me a $30 gift card on top of that.
Net cost to upgrade & replace - $5.

OK you gun experts. On another forum that I inhabit, people are taking the mick out of this guy's weapon handling technique, most saying "He's going to lose his thumb", but one guy has said "Everyone is taking the piss but it's a non reciprocating cocking handle. Even though, not good practice." Does anybody recognise what weapon this is, and is he handling it wrongly?

Since today, I can't get the little icons in the Quick Reply box to work on these boards. The Link, Image and so on buttons have no functionality.
Anybody else got this problem? I did a Mac IOS update yesterday . . .

I did a Mac IOS update yesterday . . . Well, they're still not working for me, grrrrr. It's the first four icons in the third set, Link, Email, Image and Video. I've done another shut down and reboot, just in case the update hadn't finished properly, but it has made no difference. Is it worth mentioning to Proboards? I'm using an iMac on Ventura 13.6.

Try a different browser if you are using Safari? I just had to install Chrome to use our CC provider’s site. They said it doesn’t play nice with Safari.

Whenever I have to do an update, several websites using chrome, seem to pause while loading. I just keep hitting the refresh button (several times with some pages),

How can I load Chrome if it's not in the App store? Search Google Chrome and find the download page for it. A few of the “big guys” are able to keep their stuff out of the App store.

Can anybody ID this car for me? Too blurry for me Malc but I’ve copied it and sent it on to a buddy who’s very astute on this sort of thing. Will report back if he has anything. He’s in London btw but don’t. Hate him for it. He’s Canadian and that is where he works.

I thought a Porsche but a mate reckons it's a McLaren. We get quite a few of both in our little village.

Pretty sure it is not a Porsche and I don’t see enough McLaren’s to be sure about that but from the overall shape I was leaning McLaren. I’ll let you know if I hear more. The guy I asked will almost be able to tell you the serial number if he gets a good enough look.

It’s a McLaren. Not sure which one, though. Their design language doesn’t vary much. My guess is it’s a GT.

Are you using a blocker that screens out Facebook content? I don't see the image in Firefox with Facebook Container (I also don't see some of the Political Cartoons that link from Facebook), but if I go into Chrome which doesn't have the blocker, then I can see them.
